On December 16, 2023, an international scientific and practical conference was held at the Tashkent Medical Academy. This conference was held both online and offline for everyone’s convenience. The conference was organized by the head of the Department of Children, Adolescent and Nutritional Hygiene, Professor Ermatov Nizom Jumakulovich. Ermatov Nizom Jumakulovich is a participant of the international Erasmus+ BERNICA project. This conference was called “THE ROLE OF NUTRITION IN PROMOTING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE” and was important for students and doctors. About 50 listeners took part in the event.
The conference was opened by Professor Azizova Feruza Lyutpillayevna, vice-rector for scientific affairs and innovations. She gave information about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and its promotion. Continuing the words of the professor honorable teacher of the department Sheikhova Guli Islamovna briefly told about the history of the department. In addition, the founders of the BERNICA project, Dr. Manuela Konrad and Dr. Indrani Kalkan, spoke important of nutrition via the ZOOM platform. They gave some information about the work being done in their countries in the Nutrition.

BERNICA’s participant Dr.Fatmanur Uzyurek Arpa working in Istanbul Medipol University Istanbul, Turkiye, attended with “Serum ferritin levels in postmenopausal women investigation of the relationship between nutrition and obesity”.
Head of the Department of advanced training of doctors Rano Dadabaeva presented “Assessment of obesity of women of fertile age”
One of the participant of BERNICA Oybek Eshmamatov participated with “Assessment of nutrition in chronic obstructive pulmonary diseasepulmonary diseases”
Overall, 20 authors presented their scientific works at the conference.
Healthy lifestyle is one of the current issues. Holding international scientific and practical conferences on such important topics will not only be a source of information for students, but also an exchange of information for experts in this field.
